birthday time!

So it's my birthday today. Well, technically not for another three hours but it is my birth-date. I'm nineteen years old now :D
I also would like to say that I saw the punk band The Adicts Wednesday night for the fourth time and it was AWESOME, as usual. If you don't listen to them, you should start listening to them. If you haven't seen them, go see them, please. It's just so much fun there! Glitter, cards, confetti, streamers, silly string, and props for miles! You might be able to catch them as they have been on this same tour for three years now (:
EDIT: i took the picture of the party hat down as it was just too darn big!

This is the first time i have used my camera in a while so i thought i would take some pictures of this garden spider hanging out in my backyard. unfortunately i don't have photoshop at the moment so can't make it all fancy :/ but i suppose that's how spiders should be, RAW. (:

spreading the word..

Make an Old Man Happy

I've generally tried not to take this blog too seriously. All of us go through a lot of crap each day and we have our own problems to deal with. If I can make someone forget about those for a moment through a laugh or confusion then my job is complete. But I'd like to ask all of you to take a moment of your time, to make this man's day a bit better.

This is William J. Lashua, a veteran from World War 2 who is celebrating his 90th birthday on Saturday. But look at that notice again, it's asking people to come to his birthday party. I don't know, when you need to ask for people to come to any birthday party that's depressing enough, but he's 90. That means he probably doesn't have any family or friends left to come wish him a happy birthday, and if that isn't the most depressing thing you've heard all day, I don't know what is. You may have seen this in other blogs and what not but it doesn't really matter, I'm just trying to spread this around as much as possible.

I hate this image so much.

I have faith in you guys that you know how to write and mail a letter, if not, that's what the internet is for. If you're incapable of hand-making a card, go out to Hallmark or something and spend a few dollars to buy one. Then run out and buy a small gift or tack on a few dollars to your card and mail it away.

Unless you live close to him I doubt your card and present will arrive by Saturday but that's fine. Wouldn't that be nice for him to be getting birthday cards long after his birthday is done? According to my stats I have people who have viewed this blog from all over the States, Canada, etc., so wouldn't it also be nice for this guy to receive stuff from as many places as possible?

If someone wants to bake him a Starcraft cake that is also acceptable.

So go out and do a good deed, I know will be tomorrow. Just imagining that man having a party similar to that bear is enough to make something inside of me break.
